When you plan to work from home it can be a beneficial and balancing decision that helps you to devote time and attention to your work as well as home. This kind of option can give you flexibility and saves transportation and commuting costs as well as time. You get to spend a lot of time with your family at the same time as you are working and you may not have to send your children to a day care centre or crèche. This kind of opportunity is productive and beneficial to the organisation that you are working for too, in terms of cost and infrastructure. Less stress is experienced, which leads to the successful balance of relationships and helps to nurture harmony in your home.

However when working from home you need to clearly draw a line between work and home activities and try to dedicate a separate area or a room for your work. Designing and planning home office furniture is important as it needs to blend in with your home décor and at the same time set the clear demarcation of your office space.

Equipment like your laptop computer, phone, fax and scanner need to be handy and effectively placed. The planning of home office furniture should be done with careful consideration to the above factors as difficult to the basic requirements of an office set up could mar your productivity.
