When you are trying to furnish a box room to make it suitable as a child’s bedroom or even as a spare room that you can use to accommodate guests and visitors when they spend time at your house, the last thing you want to do is to suffocate the room with too many items of furniture.
Bedroom furniture is important even in guest bedrooms, because it allows people to feel at home if they are staying for any length of time. Their stay is made more comfortable if they are able to use wardrobes, drawers and other items of furniture for the clothes and toiletries they have brought with them.
Equally, children’s bedrooms have a huge need for effective items of furniture to manage the storage of clothes, toys and all manner of other items that children need access to every day.
The trouble arises when you try and squeeze lots of items of furniture into the small space provided by a box room. Instead, box rooms are perfect as fitted bedrooms. Fitted furniture can be built into the walls so that the storage potential is always there, but the room is never jam-packed so that it is uncomfortable to spend time in.
