Fitting sliding wardrobes in box rooms

Most people are pretty familiar with box rooms. Box rooms are mostly used as kids’ bedrooms in suburban homes. This is essentially what they are built for. However, it is not always easy to get the most out of these bedrooms, where space is always at a premium.

Nowhere in the house is it quite so important for you to try and find space saving solutions than in a box room. Fitted bedroom furniture comes in particularly handy here because it offers you a way of furnishing the room attractively and efficiently without leaving the room feeling cramped.

Even the inclusion of just a single item of fitted furniture can make all the difference to the room. Fitted wardrobes are probably the ones that can make the biggest impression.

Fitted wardrobes can be built into one of the end walls of the box room to provide all the storage that the occupant of the room will need. Hanging space can deal with clothing, whilst shelving space can handle other items that need storing. Sliding wardrobes also make accessibility to the wardrobe really easy as they don’t require floor space in front of the wardrobe to open doors outwardly.

Box rooms make perfect fitted bedrooms

Posted in Fitted Bedrooms — Written by Sam

A vast proportion of homes in the United Kingdom were designed with families in mind. As a result, it is really common to see homes that have one or two larger bedrooms and one box room. The box room is generally intended as a children’s bedroom with the larger rooms reserved for adults.

The trouble with box rooms is obviously their size. It is great to have an extra bedroom in the house and kids fit into them pretty well, but as they start to grow, they inevitably need a bit more in the way of personal space.

Furnishing a box room for a child who is moving towards their teens is not always an easy task. They are likely to need a larger bed and they will almost certainly need more clothes, so space in their bedroom becomes really tight unless you take a new approach.

Box rooms are ideal as fitted bedrooms. Fitting furniture directly into a box room increases the potential of certain areas of the room for storage. For example, areas up in the top corners of the room become available for use. Fitted wardrobes reduce the necessity for more pieces of furniture taking up valuable floor space.
